The Yarkon neighborhood is the name for neighborhoods located north of the Yarkon River: Ramat Aviv, Ramat Hahayal, Kochav Hatzafon, Azorei Chen, Bavli, Neot Afeka, Tel Baruch and more. The Yarkon neighborhood is actually a sort of bourgeois suburb of the heart of Tel Aviv. The main characteristic of these neighborhoods is residential housing with new construction, well-tended and green neighborhoods. The neighborhood is full of educational institutions and kindergartens, making it very popular and most of the population is young. The Yarkon industrial zone (also known as the Ramat Hahayal industrial zone) has become a center of advanced industry, medical centers and recreation and catering centers over the years.
